Web Developer

Location: Dublin

Ryanair are currently recruiting a Web Application Developer. We are interested in you if you are looking for a career opportunity where hard work, initiative and enthusiasm are part of the daily routine. The successful candidate will be energetic and committed, able to work well from his/her own initiative while being an integral part of our team.

This person will play a very important role in the web team and will be responsible for ensuring that day to day site maintenance such as adding new content, building email campaigns, working with partners, development and customisation of web pages etc. In addition to this the successful candidate will also work with the rest if the development team to carrying out coding in order to achieve development objectives of Ryanair.com.

Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years' experience working on a consumer orientated web site. They must have strong PHP skills and a good understanding of object oriented Javascript and jQuery. They must also have strong HTML/CSS skills. This is a good starting position for anyone looking to enhance their experience of working on a large skill site.

Duties Include:

  • Oversee day to day maintenance updates on Ryanair.com
  • Update fares pages, route map, and homepages on a daily basis
  • Work with development team to implement CMS structure
  • Hands on SEO/SEM experience
  • Create design prototypes, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content
  • Looking at key areas to improve and optimize Ryanair.com
  • Forward development of Ryanair.com
  • Create visual concepts that match Ryanair's image

Experience and Qualifications:

  • XHTML, PHP, Ajax, Javascript, SQL, CSS, XML
  • Working Knowledge of the Zend Framework and object orientated development
  • Knowledge of JavaScript
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
  • Previous experience of implementing SEO techniques an advantage
  • Previous experience of implementing CMS structure an advantage
  • Experience of working on multi language websites
  • Excellent team working and communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
