Nimes Airport is located 12 Km from Nimes city centre. There is a local bus service that runs between the airport and Nimes with a journey time of 20 minutes.

Food and drink

Costières de Nîmes: The Costières de Nîmes vineyards extend from the south of the city, covering a total of 12,000 hectares. The quality of this AOC wine -red, rosé and white- has continued to improve over the past twenty years.

Brandade: Brandade de morue is the typical dish of Nîmes. It is made with desalted salt cod that is mixed as an emulsion with olive oil and a little milk.

Olives and olive oil “de Nîmes”: The "Olive de Nîmes" is a "Picholine". Its firm, sweet flesh is eaten green. The very fruity tasting oil made from these olives is made with ripe fruits.

Activities and Tour

Pont du Gard: Come and enjoy the magic of the Pont du Gard. The Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is set in an environment of rare beauty.

Les Arènes: The Roman amphitheatre in Nîmes is the best-conserved of the Roman world. It was used for hunting wild animals and for gladiator combats from the end of the first century AD onwards. Many events are held there today.

Events

Féria de Nîmes: It is six days of festivities at Whitsun and three days in September with bullfights in the arena and abrivados and bandidos with local bulls. You can walk around and listen to peñas (small brass bands), dance the 'Sévillane' in the bodegas until late at night, eat paella in a Camargue or Seville style village, go to concerts, enjoy the evening market, watch the Pégoulade, the opening procession at the Whitsun Féria.
