Rodez city history
It’s an Episcopal city since the 4th century, proud of its beautiful 80 meter tall Cathedral with its impressive bell-tower.
It is a perfect introduction to Rodez’s history and identity. This charming town is easy to stroll through on foot. A sequentially marked itinerary will take you back through the city’s two thousand years of history.
The old Rodez features several historic townhouses and mansions from the 14th -17th century, or beautiful religious buildings like the chapel of the old Jesuit College.

No wonder that the main speciality, Aligot, is made with Laguiole cheese – a delicacy that you will no doubt try during your stay maybe accompanied by Aubrac beef and a glass of Marcillac wine, locally produced.
