Situated in a magnificent and protected setting with exceptional panoramas the Gavarnie ski area has something for all abilities, taste that pure mountain air as you descend. Gavarnie is the birthplace of Pyrenean exploration, the Cirque de Gavarnie is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The ski runs are accessible to all ability levels, whether expert or beginner you cannot fail to be impressed by the grandiose landscape.
The 52 kms (about 33 miles) of runs blend naturally into the landscape of this magical place.

At Gavarnie and Gèdre: apartments, 2 and 3* hotels with a family atmosphere, bed-and-breakfast adorned with the Pyrenean exploration spirit and seven gites. Camping-car park.

Spa Bath and the Après-ski
After a day on the ski slopes go to Luzéa, the thermal spa centre, 18 kilometres away (about 11 miles). There try Turkish bath, jacuzzi, bubble baths, and customised care: massages with chocolate or hot stones... Pure bliss.

Gavarnie is a famous spot for mountaineering: climbing icefalls, alpinism, langlauf and snowshoe trekking...
To learn more about the National Park of the Pyrenees, visit the Maison du Parc National des Pyrénées in Gavarnie.
At Gèdre, 7 kms away (about 4.5 miles): open skating rink and bobsled toboggans.
And to learn more about the classification by the UNESCO visit Millaris, the Maison des Cirques, an interactive space.
In the ski resort, the Kidpark is a space dedicated to children and beginners. For more fun try the mini attractions park. If you want to ski without worries the kindergartens and snow gardens welcome children from 3 to 7 years old.

From Lourdes Pyrenees airport: About 1h10 drive
Take N21 towards Lourdes. In Lourdes, continue towards Argelès-Gazost on D821.
Then continue towards Luz-St-Sauveur/Gavarnie on D913 and D921.
In Luz St Sauveur take D921 towards Gavarnie
