Facilities Manager

Location: East Midlands Airport

Reports to: Deputy Director - Flight Operations

East Midlands Training manages facilities at East Midlands, Stansted and Frankfurt Hahn Airports where Ryanair's six full flight simulators are located. We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Manager. The position will be based at East Midlands Airport. You will be working in cooperation with Ryanair, Europe's number one low fares airline.

The PositionTo manage the provision of engineering cover and facilities to Flight Training, Inflight Crew Training and IFS Training devices. The role involves complex fault rectification and updates to the overall performance and fidelity of devices. The successful candidate will be operating within strict time constraints in a fast moving environment managing equipment with a high capital value.

Duties Include:

  • Specialist 737 simulator knowledge applied to completing projects and problem solving.
  • Liaison with internal and external agencies, regulators, customers and end users.
  • Cost effective planning to maximise usage of high worth capital equipment.
  • Manage equipment budget and maintenance tasks with the Finance department.
  • Maintain standards of service to Flight Operations, 3rd Party training and inflight training.
  • Ensure the integrity of training software and simulation fidelity and that everyone works and trains to the highest safety standards.
  • Manage the maintenance of the facilities and ensure availability at all times to end-users. Recommend & oversee improvements to the training facility and equipment.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering (Preferably Aeronautical) and a minimum of 3 years' management experience within the simulation and training industry. Alternatively academic requirements may be substituted for proven experience and expertise gained within the industry.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Excellent English both spoken & written.
  • Have a flexible attitude and be prepared to work in a fast changing environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individuals who are able to work without direct supervision.
  • Excellent computer skills
