Materials Support Manager-PAMS

Location: Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance (PAM), Prestwick Airport

Reports to: Managing Director

Duties Include:

  • Supporting the Ryanair head office materials department in the control of materials requirements in the UK
  • Monitoring and controlling all UK base maintenance material requirements
  • Supporting UK base maintenance progress chasers
  • Assisting in the purchase of material requirements
  • Assisting in the control of warranty
  • Liaising with suppliers on materials issues
  • Controlling costs associated with the supply and control of materials to all UK bases
  • Assisting all stores in the UK to ensure the smooth running of the Ryanair operation
  • Ensuring that all spare parts are properly controlled as they move around the Ryanair network
  • Ensuring that repair orders for all unserviceable items are generated and assisting in dealing with the repair shops to ensure that these units are returned in a timely manner
  • Making sure that all components are monitored and accurately reflected on our computer system
  • Liaising with all engineering departments to ensure that all queries are quickly resolved
  • Controlling all training requirements
  • Ensuring that spares are available and are adequately distributed to support the Ryanair operation
  • Monitoring of delivery dates and times of incoming spares
  • Monitoring all component removals and installations that occur in the UK and controlling all spares associated with this activity
  • Monitoring spare part movements to ensure that robberies, loans and exchanges are completed correctly and that costs are kept to a minimum
  • Controlling all freight movements within the UK and ensuring that all freight costs are efficiently controlled
  • Any other such duties as may be reasonably directed by management

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in negotiating at senior level.
  • Excellent numerical ability and contract experience
  • A sound knowledge of computer systems. Knowledge of AMOS is a distinct advantage
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent sense of judgement
  • Highly organised and have the ability to handle a wide variety of tasks in a highly pressurised environment
  • Excellent computer skills
  • An effective communicator
  • Must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK
