Fares from 99c to celebrate

Ryanair, Europe’s No. 1 low fares airline, today (22nd December 2006) celebrated carrying a record 40M since the beginning of the year. Ryanair’s lucky 40 millionth passenger of 2006, 84 year old Mary Duggan from Cork, was travelling on a 1 cent flight to Liverpool where she will celebrate Christmas with her son.  A delighted Mary received free Ryanair flights, €400 and a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

Speaking today, Peter Sherrard, Ryanair’s Head of Communications said:

“2006 has been a record year for Ryanair, and we have smashed passenger records across Europe, as the travelling public continues to flock to our low fares, top punctuality and guarantee of no fuel surcharges ever.  We wish Mary and the other 40M passengers who travelled with us this year a very Merry Christmas."
