Ryanair aircraft diverts to Limoges

Ryanair aircraft diverts to Limoges 25 Aug.

Update 12:00hrs – 26th Aug

Ryanair flight FR9336 from Bristol to Barcelona Girona diverted to Limoges Airport last night 25th August (landing at 23.30 local) following an in-flight de-pressurisation incident which caused the oxygen masks to deploy.  All 168 passengers disembarked safely upon landing.

Passengers were provided with refreshments, and a replacement aircraft was deployed to Limoges from London Stansted which transferred 127 passengers onwards to Barcelona Girona, landing at 03:30local this morning.

At 11:45hrs this morning a coach departed Limoges to Barcelona with all remaining passengers.  Prior to departure of the coaches, Ryanair provided passengers with direct contact staff phone numbers should they need any further assistance.

Ryanair’s engineers have inspected the aircraft overnight and have confirmed that the oxygen masks which deployed were working properly. The Irish and French Aviation Authorities have been notified of this incident and a full investigation of this incident will be undertaken later today.

The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 is 5 years old and was last serviced on 24th July (just one month ago).  The Captain of the flight has flown with Ryanair for 5 years and 7 months and has over 13,400 hours flying experience. 

 

While this investigation is ongoing with the French and Irish Authorities Ryanair will not comment further on this incident.
