Ryanair Launches Three New Italian Bases

 
 
ALGHERO, BOLOGNA & CAGLIARI
6 Aircraft, 4m Passengers p.a., 4,000 Jobs  
 
1MILLION €5 SEATS FOR TRAVEL IN MAY & EARLY JUNE
 
Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline, today (30 Mar) launched three new Italian bases (now 7 in total) at Alghero, Bologna and Cagliari Airports offering a total of
67 domestic and international routes, generating over 4m passengers p.a. and supporting 4,000 jobs in Italy. Ryanair will base 2 aircraft at each of these three airports bringing Ryanair’s total investment in Italy to 26 aircraft worth almost $2billion. 
 
Ryanair celebrated the inaugural day of its three new Italian bases by releasing 1million €5 seats for travel across its European network in May and early June. These low fares are now available for booking on www.ryanair.com.
 
Celebrating these Italian Base Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:
 
“Ryanair and Italy today join in the celebration of continued low fares growth across Italy. Our three new bases in Alghero, Bologna and Cagliari will see over 4 million new passengers pass through these 3 airports over the next year on 67 low cost domestic and international routes.
 
Ryanair’s continued expansion in Italy during a time of economic recession shows the benefit of competition and low fares in Italy. Ryanair will carry over 17 million passengers to/from Italy this year and will sustain 17,000 jobs throughout the regions.
