Ryanair Presents €110,000 Cabin Crew Charity Calendar Proceeds to “KIDS”
€300,000 raised from calendar in just three years
Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, today (25thFeb) presented UK children’s charity “KIDS” with €110,000 from the sale of all 11,000 copies of the 2010 Ryanair Cabin Crew Charity Calendar which sold out in just five weeks.
The “KIDS” charity, which provides support to disabled children and their families throughout the UK, was chosen by Ryanair’s staff council from over 200 charities across Europe to receive the entire proceeds from the sale of the 2010 calendar.
Handing over the cheque for €110,000 Ryanair vowed to defend the right of all its girls (and boys) to take their clothes off if they want to, particularly when it is for charity. Ryanair’s bikini clad cabin crew have now raised over €300,000 for charity in just three years.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:
“In 2010 over 73m passengers will travel on our guaranteed lowest fares and will be taken care of by Europe’s most beautiful cabin crew. We are delighted that the efforts of our cabin crew beauties have raised €110,000 for KIDS and over €300,000 for three charities in just three years.”
KIDS Chief Executive, Kevin Williams said:
“We are delighted that Ryanair chose to support the much valued, practical support that KIDS provides for disabled children and their families across the UK. Our thanks go to all the Cabin Crew who took part – it’s great when a bit of fun can serve such a serious purpose. Our unique Direct Short Breaks service provides opportunities for disabled children and their carers which would otherwise simply not be possible and this €110,000 will help to make life easier for so many families.”
