Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked Baggage is any item accepted for carriage in the aircraft hold, including bags, infant equipment (baby seats/booster seats/travel cot), musical instruments and sports, equipment etc. (mobility equipment and children's' pushchairs are carried free of charge and do not need to be prebooked).

For health and safety reasons Ryanair does not accept for carriage any individual item exceeding 32 kilos or with combined dimensions of more than 81cms (height), 119cms (width) and 119cms (depth). This weight limit does not apply to mobility equipment.

Each passenger may check in up to two checked bags upon payment of the applicable checked baggage fees by electing to purchase a checked baggage allowance of either 15 kilos or 20 kilos when make their initial booking. After the booking is made checked baggage can be added to a reservation via the Manage My Booking facility on http://www.ryanair.com/en/manage-your-booking up to 4 hours before the scheduled flight departure time. The checked baggage fees are charged per person/per one way flight and are discounted when booked on-line. Higher fees apply if booked via a Ryanair call centre or at the airport and also for travel undertaken in the peak months of July or August. Fees may vary from time to time but it is the rates in force at the time you book and/or pay for your checked baggage allowance which apply. No pooling or sharing of baggage allowances is permitted, even within a party travelling on the same reservation. Pooling of an individual checked baggage allowance is not permitted even if you have two items of checked baggage (each item must be within its own prepaid weight allowance). Any passenger exceeding their personal checked baggage allowance will be charged for excess baggage at the rate prevailing on the day of travel. This is currently £20/€20 per kilo (or local currency equivalent). (click here for details).

There is no checked/hand baggage allowance for infants. However, one fully collapsible pushchair per child may be carried free of charge. Additional infant equipment such as car/booster seats and travel cots may be carried in addition to the personal checked baggage allowance up to a limit of 20kg per item. Infant equipment (car/booster seats and travel cots) are charged at a separate fee per item/per one way flight (Click here for details)

At airports with self-service kiosks, you must have paid any checked baggage fees and/or excess baggage charges and deposited your checked baggage at the bag drop desk no later than 40 minutes before scheduled departure time.
