The attraction of the villages and ski slopes is obvious at first glance. With the enjoyment of skiing or snowboarding amid beautiful scenery. 94 lifts and cable cars link the 259 km of pistes covering 22 villages, with, of course, all the associated improvements in facilities and investments in safety, modern lifts, snow canons, piste maintenance and signposting.
Beginners, improvers and advanced skiers are all well catered for in the numerous ski schools. More and more people are discovering cross-country skiing, Nordic walking, winter hiking and snow-shoe trekking as the perfect way to recharge their batteries in winter. 300 kilometres of ski trails and 140 km of marked footpaths lead through snow-covered meadows, over high, sun-filled plateaux, along the banks of sparkling streams and through white winter forests.
