Forni di Sopra

Ravascletto

The Zoncolan mountain, offers 22 km of ski slopes and a breath-taking view over the Carnia, the Austrian and the Julian Alps. Ravascletto lies in a basin at 950 m above sea level beneath the Zoncolan mountain and is the most important centre of the Valcalda valley. Thanks to the available ski lifts, from Ravascletto you can reach ski slopes at a height of 1,700 m and enjoy a breath-taking view over the But valley in the East as well as on the Degano valley in the West. Beyond the facilities for alpine, cross-country and off-the-slopes skiing, the ski resort is also equipped with a trail for ice-skating, a trail for sleighs (night lightened), ski-jumping boards. Not far away lies the famous thermal centre of Arta Terme.

Getting There

  • By Car: 
    Follow the A23 motorway connecting Udine to Tarvisio and take the exit for Carnia. Take the main road 52 and then highway 465 straight to Ravascletto (about 60 Km from Udine to Ravascletto). Hertz offer all Ryanair passengers special discounted rates on car hire.

  • By Train: 
    Take the train from Monfalcone to Udine or Carnia. Udine is 74 Km from Ravascletto and Carnia is 33 Km from Ravascletto.

  • By Bus: 
    Busses are available from the airport and the railway station to Udine where connections are available for Tolmezzo. From Tolmezzo, bus connections are available to most of the villages in Carnia.
