Commercial Accountant (Temporary Contract)

Location: Dublin

Reports to: Commercial Manager

Term: 6 month temporary contract

Ryanair is the World's favourite airline and operates more than 1,500 flights per day from over 50 bases and 1,400 low fare routes across 28 countries, connecting over 165 destinations. Ryanair operates a fleet of 290 new Boeing 737-800 aircraft with firm orders for a further 21 new aircraft (before taking account of planned disposals), which will be delivered over the next year. Regulated by the Irish Aviation Authority, Ryanair currently has a team of more than 8,500 people and expects to carry 75 million passengers in the current fiscal year.

The successful candidate will have the following skills, be commercially minded with strong numerical skills , demonstrate the ability to interrogate large volumes of legal contracts and filter out the relevant commercial / financial data while summarizing this information into reports that will form the basis of a legal argument.

Duties Include:

  • Review contracts on behalf the legal Dept., with the objective of preparing detailed financial cost reports that will be utilized within various legal cases.
  • Work with the legal department, providing accounting and financial assistance in the preparation of legal cases.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA with a keen interest for the commercial aspect of the airline industry
  • Ideally 2 - 3 years' experience in industry
  • Ability to review commercial contracts and extract and summarize the relevant information
  • Good analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Good end-user computing skills in particular MS Excel
  • Fluent English
  • The ability to start with immediate effect would be an advantage
