Do I need to advise Ryanair prior to travel if I have reduced mobility, blind/visual impairment or require special assistance in the airport?

For safety reasons, Ryanair carries a maximum of four passengers per flight who have either reduced mobility, are blind/vision impaired travelling with an guide/assistance dog or who are blind/vision impaired travelling alone.

Such passengers (including those who are blind/vision impaired and travelling with a sighted (adult – over 16) companion) should notify Ryanair of their condition/requirements during the online booking process or via your local Ryanair call centre, preferably on the day of booking. Please note: failure to pre-book special assistance services may result is these services being unavailable and the passenger being unable to travel.

Passengers with pre-booked special assistance who have checked in online will have their required assistance printed on the online boarding pass. On arrival at the airport they should go to the designated airport special assistance desk/area. Please retain your online boarding pass or special assistance voucher for production at your arrival airport.

Special assistance services cannot be reserved online within 36 hours of travel or once a passenger has checked in. Special assistance may be added (subject to availability) via your local Ryanair call centre during office hours up to 12 hours prior to scheduled flight departure. Click here for the Ryanair Special Assistance Line. Reduced mobility passengers who have pre-advised their condition should arrive at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to the flight departure. They will be boarded after general boarding has been completed and seats will be reserved onboard.

Please note: A blind or vision impaired passenger who is accompanied by a sighted (adult-over 16) companion (on a one to one ratio) and requires no special assistance is not subject to the above safety limitation of 4 per flight, however they must advise Ryanair of their condition either at the time of booking online or via the Ryanair Special Assistance Line preferably on the same day as booking.
