Santander Airport is situated 6.5 Km outside of Santander city. There is a bus connection to the city centre, operated by Alsa; the journey time is 15 min; cost is €1.50. There is a connection to Bilbao from the airport, operated by Alsa. Journey time is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Both buses leave from outside the Arrivals Terminal.

Cantabria

Cantabria lies along the coastal strip of Northern Spain and is known for its varied landscapes, culture, gastronomy, delightful cities, its extensive range of outdoor activities, the hospitality of its friendly inhabitants and superb choice of quality accommodation. It is close to and well communicated with other mayor cities of Northern Spain.

Santander

The capital Santander, is a dynamic city, with intensive commercial activities and a great deal of cultural and musical events. Its good shopping, the promenades along the bay, the Casino of El Sardinero, its parks and beaches, along with numerous possibilities for entertainment make it an exciting city. Congresses, conventions or company meetings find an ideal setting in Santander to mix work and business with pleasure.

Other well-know tourist centres

Other well-know tourist centres lie on the coastline: Castro Urdiales and Santona, famous for the anchovies; Laredo with it’s 6 kilometer long beach; the fishing village of San Vicente de La Barquera; Comillas with the "Capricho", built by the world-known architect Gaudi; etc.

Santillana del Mar

The mediaeval town of Santillana del Mar and next to it, the Prehistoric Caves of Altamira are other well-known attractions. While Altamira is the best know example of rupestrian art in Cantabria, it's not the only one. In total, there are more than 50 decorated caves. Other many extraordinary cavities have developed in the sub-soil of Cantabria.
