Fire Mountain - Timanfaya

This spectacular National Park includes a section of around 14 kilometres known as the Volcano Trail, where a bus ride gives visitors the chance to see the stunning landscape of lava and volcanic cones. The trip provides a commentary in several languages about the various sections of the trail and the majestic volcanic scenery. A camel ride on the volcano is undoubtedly one of the most typical images of Lanzarote, combining the exotic nature of this mode of transport with the magnificence of the surroundings.

Cueva de los Verdes (the green cave)

Cueva de los Verdes is a volcanic tunnel that goes for seven kilometres from the Corona volcano down to the coast. The tunnel continues beneath the sea for about 1,500 metres, in a section known as the Atlantic Tunnel. An excursion through the cave is both spectacular and unique: visitors take away lasting memories of their journey to the depths of the earth. During the guided tour of approximately one hour, visitors will see whimsical shapes of lava made all the more vivid by indirect lighting.

Mirador del Río Lookout

Mirador del Río is one of César Manrique’s most emblematic architectural creations. The lookout is at the top of a cliff, Risco de Famara, at an altitude of 474 metres, in the northernmost part of the island and provides one of Lanzarote’s most spectacular views: Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park and Risco de Famara cliff face.

Jameos del Agua

Like the Cueva de los Verdes, the Jameos del Agua are inside a volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of the Corona volcano. They are the closest section of the tunnel to the coast. The interior architecture, designed by Lanzarote artist César Manrique, is stunning. The cave includes a natural lake of clear, transparent water inhabited by more than 12 endemic species of major interest to science, including the famous blind crabs.

La Geria Wine trails

Discover the island’s most essential fragrances and flavours on a visit to the remarkable landscape of La Geria, home of Lanzarote’s wineries. Although the wineries are close to each other, we suggest several trails to make the best use of your visit and your time. The trails should be taken at leisure and all start from the same place: El Monumento al Campesino, a tribute by Lanzarote artist César Manrique to centuries of work by the men and women who have laboured on the land. This site explains how their work was carried out and displays the tools and implements they used.
