Memmingen Airport is a small public airport located in the town of Memmingerberg in close proximity to the city of Memmingen, Germany, in the Swabia region. It is one of three commercial airports in Bavaria and the has the highest elevation of all of Germany's commercial airports. Prior to 2008-09-25, it was known as Allgäu Airport/Memmingen. Located about 2.5 km from the city centre of Memmingen and 100 km from the city centre of Munich, it not only serves Memmingen and the Allgäu area but also provides a low-cost alternative to Munich Airport.
