Markets

In Brussels, there are plenty of antique markets and small local markets. The rummage sale in the place du Jeu de Balle in the "Marolles", and a little further away there is the Sablon district, well worth a visit.

Art Nouveau

The former home of Victor Horta, the famous Brussels Art Nouveau architect, was converted into a museum in 1969. Art Nouveau is famous for its ornate, curvaceous style, often with flower and plant motifs and for its optimal use of light and space.

Comic books

The "Belgian Strip Cartoon Centre", also know as the "Strip Museum" is housed in a fine Brussels Art Nouveau house and contains work by over a hundred Belgian strip cartoonists. The history of the strip is explained in detail, there is an extensive strip library and, of course, a shop with strip gadgets.
