Ibiza, Multicultural

Ibiza, a historic harbour, a cultural melting pot, a stone vessel, a market of the world… a magnet for romantic people and artists from all over the planet, who find in Ibiza the freedom, the spaces and the inspiration they need to give life to their projects.

Ibiza is like a chameleon, adapting itself to every traveller and fulfilling their needs: quietness, crowds, balance, madness, nature, sea, romanticism, inspiration, sport or unforgettable sunsets…

The quiet and unchanging environment in the countryside contrasts with the cities and certain towns’ cosmopolitan atmosphere. Cutting-edge trends are displayed in Ibiza’s shops simultaneously to the most avant-garde cities in the world. In fact, some of them are generated in the island. Adlib fashion, for example, emerges from Ibiza´s feeling of freedom, a freedom that works as a muse for most artists in the island.

This mixture of feelings that our visitors experience, together with a wide range of services and tourist facilities are the key to Ibiza's authenticity. Walkers, night lovers, thinkers, adventurers, loners, treasure hunters, music and sea lovers… Once experienced, Ibiza becomes the destination where all your dreams come true...

Ibiza All Year Around

Each season brings us a different and surprising Ibiza. Intense light and mild temperatures are present all year round. Be amazed by the beauty of the almond trees blossom in February, and contemplate the islands fields covered in white. Spring brings again a bursting of flowers around the island. Enjoy the refreshing feeling of bathing in a beach in August or the pleasure of eating fresh fish under the sun of January at the terrace of a café right on the seashore.

Ibiza can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons. The island offers a wide range of cultural activities all year round, and enough tourist resources to make your holidays an unforgettable experience, regardless of the time of the year when you chose to visit us.

Ibiza, Natural and Authentic

Thousand-year-old olive trees, pine woods stirred by the breeze, plains of full-blossomed almond trees shining under the moonlight… Ibiza is nice and warm, an open and generous island full of smiles, light, inspiration, and centenary traditions. Immerse in its History as you enter Dalt Vila’s fortification walls, the defensive towers and each of its whitewashed churches.

Ibiza's main highlights are its landscape and its history. However, it is Ibiza’s authenticity what turns the island into a unique place, a wonderful setting bathed by the intense Mediterranean light, a place where travellers feel time has stopped. Ibiza is a destination of excitement, where simple things can be enjoyed: quietness, nature, the scent of the sea, a reunion… a dreamland for those who wish to enjoy each and every moment of their lives.

Nature is without question another main asset. With an area of 572 square kilometres, Ibiza offers 210 kilometres of beaches that can be enjoyed during all seasons, thanks to its warm temperatures and 2,948 hours of sun per year.

Ibiza, Historic Place and World Heritage Site

As you walk through the labyrinth of Dalt Vila’s narrow streets, surrounded by the town’s defensive walls, you will feel like taken back to the middle Age and the Renaissance, while enjoying a cosmopolitan and lively atmosphere. Having been a cultural melting pot for centuries, the fortification hosts nowadays concerts, poetry seasons, exhibitions and cultural activities throughout the year.

In 1999, Dalt Vila was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, a declaration that brings international recognition to the best preserved fortification on the Mediterranean coastline.

Located outside the fortification, but also considered Word Heritage Site, are the districts of La Marina, Sa Penya and Es Soto, which have been for centuries a place of residence for adventurers and artists from all over the world. UNESCO has also preserved the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta and the necropolis of Puig des Molins, both considered the most important archaeological settlements of the Phoenician and Punic culture. They can be visited any time of the year. The Prairies of Posidonia Oceanica were also declared world Heritage Site. This sea weed is responsible for the purity and clarity of the waters that surround the island.

IBIZA, WHITE AND LEGENDARY

Cultural fusion and the need for protection against pirate attacks, provided Ibiza with an architectural heritage of pure, rustic and solid lines that has fascinated many artists from all over the world. The sacred woods of Santa Eulària and Sant Miquel with their fortified churches; The temples of Sant Josep, Sant Jordi or Sant Antoni; the village of Sant Llorenç de Balafia; thousands of casas payesas (traditional houses) scattered across valleys and prairies; wells and reservoirs of Arab origin; defensive towers located in strategic settings... Ibiza’s ancient heritage is abundant and impressive, and is still being used, nowadays as venues for celebrations.

Archaeology lovers will also find their particular dreamland among all the Phoenician, Roman and Arab sites scattered throughout the island. Examples of such settings are the sanctuary of es Culleram, in Sant Vicent, where devotion was paid to the Phoenician goddess Tanit; the necropolis of Puig des Molins or the Phoenician village of Sa Caleta.
