Should Dublin Airport be renamed The Jedward?- vote hereRYANAIR PASSENGERS VOTE TO RENAME DUBLIN AIRPORT
WIN A WEEKEND IN VENICE WORTH €1,000
Ryanair, Ireland’s favourite airline, today (29th July) extended its search to find a new name for Dublin Airport after a poll of over 5,000 passengers could not decide between Dublin “The Zoo” Airport, Dublin “Ray Burke” Airport or Dublin “Bertie Ahern" Airport while a huge number of passengers suggested Dublin “Jedward” Airport (Because prices rise quicker than their hair) or the Dublin “Ivor Callely” Airport (but is it in Dublin or Cork?).
Ryanair launched the online poll after the Govt announced it would consider renaming Dublin Airport in September, prior to the opening of the €1.2bn T2 white elephant. Ryanair is now extending its poll allowing passengers to vote for the most popular alternative name.
The latest poll, which is available on www.ryanair.com until Friday 6th Aug, suggests:
· Dublin “The Zoo” Airport – home of expensive white elephants (T2)…
· Dublin “Ray Burke” Airport – “will we get a receipt – will we f**k”…
· Dublin “Bertie Ahern” Airport –from North Dublin, cost taxpayers a fortune….
· Dublin “Ivor Callely” Airport – expensive, but is it in Dublin or Cork?
· Dublin “Jedward” Airport – prices rise quicker than their hair.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:
“The Govt has decided that the most pressing issue at Dublin Airport is not that T2 will double capacity to 60m passengers p.a. while traffic collapses to less than 17m p.a., but rather that Dublin airport should be renamed.
Ryanair passengers could not decide between Dublin “The Zoo” Airport, Dublin “Ray Burke” Airport or Dublin “Bertie Ahern” Airport and many suggested Dublin ‘Jedward’ Airport, because prices rise quicker than their hair, and Dublin ‘Ivor Callely’ Airport, expensive but is it in Dublin or Cork’.
To find a winner Ryanair passengers can now vote on which of these finalists should be selected as the new name for Dublin Airport on www.ryanair.com until Friday 6th August. One lucky entrant will win a weekend for two in a 4 star hotel in Venice, worth over €1,000, in September or a camping weekend in the empty T2 in Dublin in November.” ![]()
