Carriage of Medical/Mobility Equipment

Important Information for the carriage of Batteries for Assistive Devices

A maximum of two spare batteries (dry or gel cell only) are permitted in carry-on baggage and these must be individually protected to prevent short circuits.   Battery terminals must be either recessed or packaged so as to prevent contact with metal objects including terminals of other batteries.  Where the use of a personal medical assistive device is permitted during the flight it is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they have a sufficient number of fully charged batteries to cover the duration of their flight and possible delays.
