Composite Lead Mechanic - PAMS
Location: Glasgow Prestwick International Airport
Reports to: Workshop Supervisor

Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance Limited (PAM) is the sole heavy aircraft maintenance provider for Ryanair, carrying out maintenance on Ryanair's fleet of 272 New Generation Boeing 737-800 series aircraft, at our Hangar facility at Prestwick International Airport, Ayrshire, Scotland.
Duties Include:
- Ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Regulatory Authorities, the company MOE and related approved manuals
- Organising designated manpower under his / her control
- Supporting the Zone Supervisor in ensuring tasks are completed efficiently in order to complete the check in the planned downtime
- Ensuring all documentation is completed I.A.W. approved regulations
- Maintaining a high quality standard of work for himself/herself and staff under his control
- Ensuring company procedure, regulations, discipline, Health & Safety policy and working practices are adhered to by the manpower under his control
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Carrying out any other tasks as reasonably required by the Zone Supervisor
Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience of supervising / managing manpower essential
- Ability and willingness to train non-skilled personnel
- Extensive experience in an MRO composite repair workshop/hangar environment essential
- Fully conversant with use of hot bond equipment (Heatcon)
- Conversant with handling and storage of all composite materials
- Metal bond experience essential, flight control surface and nacelle experience desirable
- Fibreglass & Carbon wet layup repair experience essential
- Fibreglass & Carbon pre-impregnated repair experience essential
- Experience in drilling composites with removal and installation of fasteners desirable
- Experience in fabrication of caul plates and tooling splash desired but not essential
- Excellent spoken and written English is essential
- Willing to work shifts (including nights)
- Flexible approach to working in a fast changing environment
