There are a number of taxi stands located outside the Arrivals/Departure hall of the airport. Scheduled bus services to the centre of Klagenfurt operate every 30 minutes between 06.00 and 23.00.

Admire the view

Take time at the top of a mountain to breathe in crisp, fresh mountain air and marvel at the wonders of nature stretching out before you.

Tip: Don't forget you sunglasses and sun-cream when you are enjoying the famous "Einkehrschwung" (break at the mountain restaurants and huts)

Try skating

Join the locals for one of their favourite winter pastimes of skating for free on the frozen lakes - the very ones where you swim, in summer.

Tip: Lake Weissensee, the most famous skating lake is just a 40 minute drive from the skiing area.

Sample the local cuisine

There's more to Carinthia than Schnitzel and dumplings. Taste alpine beef, lamb, trout, not forgetting the cakes and natural apple juice.

Tip: Dine out in Italy, the Nassfeld area spreads out into both countries.

Soak in a spa

What could be better after (or instead of) all those strenuous activities, than relaxing in the sauna or soaking in the warm soothing thermal water of Bad Kleinkirchheim or Warmbad-Villach.

City life - shopping

Spittal, Hermagor, Villach and Klagenfurt, Carinthia's main cities are close at hand to the skiing areas, they are small, yet very charming and unique.

Tip: Latest fashion from Italy, ski equipment or gifts, don't forget to stop for a coffee and cake, remember the Carinthian motto "lei losn" which means slow down and enjoy!.
