Carriage of Medical/Mobility Equipment

Can I take a child's car seat or additional postural support onboard the aircraft?

In accordance with Ryanair Safety Regulations, car seats cannot be used on board the aircraft.

The following seat harnesses are approved for use on Ryanair aircraft to provide additional postural support in addition to the standard aircraft safety belt for children who weigh less than 30lbs.

  • Crelling Model 27 Harness
  • CARES (Child Aviation Restraint System)

For safety reasons the existing aircraft seatbelt must always be worn as well as the harness to give a greater degree of restraint.

Instructions for use of seat harness onboard:

  • In accordance with Ryanair's Safety Regulations, the child using an approved seat harness must be seated in a seat closest to the window.
  • In accordance with Safety Regulations, a child using a seat harness may not occupy an emergency exit seat or the seats either, directly in front or behind the emergency exit seat and should be accompanied by a carer.

For further details on these approved harnesses please visit the manufactures website: www.crelling.com, http://www.kidsflysafe.com/or contact the Ryanair Special Assistance Line
