A seaside holiday at Grado and Lignano

The Friuli Venezia Giulia seaside has a charm all of its own, an atmosphere that can be found nowhere else.

The Upper Adriatic is where East and West winds meet, where the sea pushes in towards the heart of Europe and where, Latin, Germanic and Slavic civilisations have left their marks around this doorway to the Mediterranean.

On the Adriatic coast of Friuli Venezia Giulia, family holidays are under the hallmark of relax, safety, comfort and lots of pleasure.

Where? At Grado and Lignano Sabbiadoro, on one of the nicest stretches of the upper Adriatic coast, with long expanses of golden sand that slope gently down into a calm sea. The Club Family Hotels&Campings of Grado and Lignano Sabbiadoro brings together a selection of hotels, tourist resorts and camp sites with families in mind, offering all home conveniences, rates and menus for children, entertainment and play parks.

Towns of art

Friuli Venezia Giulia is a densely woven tapestry and art treasures, all with fascinating stories to tell.

The alternating presence of different cultures and peoples here over the centuries has generated a wealth of art treasures and traditions just waiting to be discovered.

Trieste is an incredible mixture of fine Hapsburg architecture and historical cafes, with the sea that seems to come right into the centre of the city. The sea has made the city highly cosmopolitan.

Gorizia is known as the “garden town” because of its noble Mitteleuropean charm, and was one of the crucial areas in the First World War,

Udine is characterised by friendly hosterias, the masterpieces of the painter Giambattista Tiepolo, welcoming piazzas and lovely streets flanked by Venetian and Art Nouveau style palaces,

Pordenone is full of porticoes and frescoed palaces and lots of fascinating events, such as pordenonelegge.it, a lively literature festival.

"Tastes of unique people" is a product club promoted by TurismoFVG with the collaboration of the Italian Academy of Cooking which brings together and promotes the restaurants, "trattorie", traditional inns and farmhouses of Friuli Venezia Giulia in possession of the quality, cost and transparency requisites.

A regulation identifies the characteristics of those restaurants that enhance typical local products and the rich and tasty wine and gastronomy of Friuli Venezia Giulia, with the guarantee of blocked prices: a standard complete meal (starter, first course, second course with vegetables, dessert, wine of the house, water) does not exceed 35 euros.

Rural hospitality

Why choose the mountains of Friuli Venezia Giulia? Because here there is a mixture of unique sensations: unspoilt nature, paths and woods that are never crowded, nature parks with a huge variety of plants and animals, spectacular canyons and pearl-like lakes and extremely good local cooking.

A circuit of six "Alberghi diffusi", where you can feel at home, in living quarters with authentic rural architecture, just like the picturesque hamlets where they are located.

A unique mix of tradition, nature, comfort and autonomy. Feeling at home, part of a small ancient world, but with the services and comforts of a good hotel (reception, supply and changing of bed linen and bath towels, cleaning service at least twice a week).
