ARCHAEOLOGY AND CULTURE

Romanian Riviera, part of Dobrodgea region, has a long and interesting past, attested by its many Roman and Greek vestiges, historic buildings that color the Old City Centre of Constanta and the entire County. If you are keen on history, you may like to visit Tropaeum Traiani at Adamclisi, one of the most remarkable monuments of unique proportions of Antiquity. Greek civilization is also brightly represented by the ruins at Histria - the oldest town in the country's territory.

WILD DANUBE DELTA

For more than 10,000 years, after crossing 2,860 km, the Danube has been building at its river mouth into the Black Sea, one of the most beautiful deltas in the world. The Danube Delta (included in UNESCO’s world heritage list) is famous as one of the greatest wetlands of the Earth, a living museum of biodiversity, home to over 300 species of birds, 60 varieties of fish and 1,200 species of plants and trees. More than 400 lakes of different sizes, the sand dunes, the beaches on the deltaic marine seacoast provide a great diversity and spatial variety.

From air shows to music, film and dance festivals, Romanian Riviera offers plenty of events all summer long: Navy day, Constanta Days, Mamaia Pop Music Contest, Mangalia Music Festival, International Ballet and Opera Festival, Concerts, famous DJ’s performances at Liberty Parade – the biggest street music and dance festival in Romania, Stufstock Festival - sleepless nights on the beach; rock music, film, theatre and photography. Aero Grand Prix - an air show involving high - performance airplanes racing around a tight circuit at near ground level, an ultimate battle for air supremacy fought by highly trained military and civilian pilots.
