Zaragoza, a city for large events

After the International Exhibition held in 2008, Zaragoza has become a modern, innovative and a sustainable city. World Heritage: The Mudejar Art in Zaragoza

Ordesa is a spectacular Pyrenean glacier valley whose relief is dominated by the Massif of Monte Perdido and surrounded by rocky fringes. Declared National Park in 1918 with an area of 2,000 hectares, it was extended in 1982 and now it covers more than 15,000 hectares and it is one of the most important in Europe. Aragon has also high mountains dotted with gorges and canyons next to forests, lakes, valleys and deserts, the perfect scenario to practice tourist sports activities and to stage an unforgettable adventure.

World Heritage: The Mudejar Art in Aragon

Mudejar is the name given to the Muslims who stayed on in Spain after the Christian Reconquest. These craftsmen and builders constructed and decorated new christian buildings, fusing together european christian styles with islamic traditions. In december 2001 Aragon's Mudejar architecture was awarded World Heritage status by the UNESCO in recognition of its outstandingly unique and irreplaceable artistic value. Those who travel through Aragon may well be surprised at the large quantity and variety of architectural jewels that is to be found all over the region.

Snow sports

Aragon has an excellent and varied offer for descent lovers with a total of 366 skiing kilometres. In the Pyrenees, the winter resorts of Astún, Candanchú, Formigal, Panticosa and Cerler; in Teruel, Valdelinares and Javalambre. You have an appointment with the Aragonese winter sports resorts, more and more modern and better equipped, in order to do the white sport on the slopes of treated snow. The presence of snow in the Pyrenees for a long period of time allows also enjoying all kind of winter sports: snowshoes, cross country skiing, ice sports or even routs for mushing.
