A Seaside Holiday for the Whole Family

The Costa Daurada has 92 km of coastline made up of long wide beaches of fine golden sand and picturesque rocky coves. Some of the coastal towns have the official Family Holiday Resort certification. These include Calafell and Cambrils, the latter being famous for its fishing tradition and restaurants, and Salou, the home, together with Vila-seca La Pineda Platja, of PortAventura Resort complex with its theme park, water park, beach club, three themed hotels and three golf courses. Most of the coastal resorts have been awarded the European Blue Flag in recognition of the quality, facilities and environmental management of their beaches. All this, plus an exceptional climate, makes the Costa Daurada the ideal destination for unbeatable family holidays.

Non-stop Fun and Adventure

The Costa Daurada is the perfect all-year-round destination for activity holidays and sports-lovers. Walkers will enjoy the many attractive hiking trails graded to suit all fitness levels. Rock-climbing enthusiasts will love the largest area of rock faces in Catalonia, as well as one of Europe’s biggest rock climbing schools at Siurana. If you prefer the sea, you can enjoy all kinds of water sports at one of the eight marinas along the coast. Golf devotees can practise their favourite sport at one of the four golf courses or three pitch & putts, all linked to an extensive network of quality hotel accommodation. If you like exploring off the beaten track, you can discover hidden beauty spots on a bike from the Mountain Bike Centre. And last but not least, car enthusiasts can thrill to the spectacular driving of the RACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada Rally held each October. All this and more is guaranteed to make your stay in the Costa Daurada full of fun, excitement and adventure.

A Wealth of Culture

The world’s great ancient civilisations have left their mark on the Costa Daurada. In the year 2000, Tarragona’s Roman monuments were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognising it as the first Roman settlement on the Iberian Peninsula and the second most important city in the world in terms of Roman heritage. Reus stands out for its important Modernist architectural heritage that delights visitors with its beautiful stylised buildings from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. The Gaudí Centre is a modern interactive interpretation centre where you can learn about the genius of the Modernist architect Antoni Gaudí. Another important part of our cultural heritage is the Cistercian monastery itinerary, which includes the monasteries of Santes Creus and Poblet, the latter of which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991.

Gastronomy, Wine and Countryside

The Costa Daurada is a privileged land with imposing mountains in the Serra del Montsant Natural Park, Mediterranean ecosystem forests in the Prades Mountains and rivers, cultivated fields and vineyards. They all make up a natural landscape that will take your breath away.
The Costa Daurada’s cuisine is strongly influenced by the Mediterranean and you will be able to savour the fish and seafood and the traditional dishes cooked with typical Mediterranean ingredients, including olive oil, fruit, vegetables and nuts, perhaps prepared with an avant-garde touch in one of our prestigious restaurants. The quality of the Costa Daurada’s wines is guaranteed by five different designations of origin and a large part of the Cava Designation of Origin is included in our territory.

Terres de l’Ebre

The Terres de l’Ebre is the ideal destination for getting away from crowds and built-up areas and immersing yourself in a wealth of natural, cultural and historical heritage. Those who long for nature in its purest state will find a paradise in the sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see and the unspoilt landscapes of the Delta de l’Ebre and Els Ports Natural Parks, exceptional areas for birdwatching, fishing and hunting. If your interest lies in culture and historical heritage, you will be fascinated by the prehistoric cave paintings of Ulldecona (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the ancient Iberian settlements and the castles built by the Moors and the Knights Templar.
