Oujda Airport is located approximately 10 Km outside the city of Oujda. There are no rail connections or bus services from the airport to the city. There is a taxi service. It is recommended that price is agreed beforehand.

A city of gardens and parks

Oujda is a fascinating crossroads between North Africa and Europe. It has a long Berber, Ottoman and Arabo-Andalusian history. Oujda is a city open to the air, adorned with lovingly tended parks and flower-filled gardens. Not far from the medina, Lalla Aicha Park is the town’s largest green space which offers a beautiful recreation area. Near the Kasbah, the park Lalla Meryem, with its shaded paths, is an ideal stopover for a moment of calm and relaxation. This park houses the museum of traditional weaponry and a wide variety of other curiosities.

Saadia Beach

Saadia, 60 km from Oujda, is an endless succession of beaches rivaling in character and charm. Bordered by lush greenery, they offer everything you could wish for in unparalleled natural surroundings. Saadia beaches extend to the estuary of the Oued Moulouya. A few kilometers after crossing the bridge, you will discover the fishing village of Ras El Ma, where a sheltered beach awaits you, backed by an old sea cliff and small eucalyptus wooded dunes.

Music festivals in Oujda

The Gharnati Music "originating from Granada" refers to a highly sophisticated Arabo-Andalusian musical tradition developed by the Arabs during their occupation of Spain. Various orchestras and organizations enrich and perpetuate this refined Arab-Andalusian music. Oujda became the stronghold of this tradition which celebrates every two years. Rai is also honored in Oujda through the International Festival of Rai. This festival celebrates a North African style of music. It attracts artists from across the Maghreb and enlivens the summer evenings of Oujda.

The back country

The Zegzel Gorges are among the most beautiful sites in the region. The road is winding. It winds along the gorge and passes from one bank to another which leads to contemplation. One can see the fig orchards, pomegranates and oleanders. Nearby, you can admire the cave of the Camel. This is the largest cave in the region; it allows visitors through its lit circuit, to admire the nature sublime sculptures. Finally, the pigeon cave, a prehistoric site which worth seeing.

Figuig, lost in the midst of the dunes

Figuig lies 433 km south of Oujda. It is one of the most beautiful Morocco’s oasis. In the same region is located some Neolithic age engravings. The town comprises 7 ksours (fortified adobe villages). Their construction and design has earned Figuig to be ranked among the cities with an important architectural heritage. Ksours constructions are no longer these days, so that the entire city is considered as a national heritage site. The Ksar Zenaga is the largest and most prosperous of the oasis.
