Make sure you try plenty of seafood – Tarragona city being a busy Mediterranean port, seafood has always played a big role in the region’s cuisine, and they know how to cook it well. If you see Cassola de romesco on a menu, give it a go, and the seafood paella is great here too.
If you leave the cities and more touristic resorts along the coast and head inland, you will find some of the greatest food you’ll ever eat in the small mountain towns of the region.
