Getting around Munich:
The public transport network in Munich is excellent, and comprises of a U-Bahn, a tram system, the bus and the S-Bahn railway. Munich is a very walkable city though, particularly the centre, where most of the important sights and landmarks are located. Marienplatz is the perfect starting point for a walking tour of the city.
The city also has the highest density of taxis per person in Germany, so they are easy to flag down if you need one. Driving is not the best way to get around the city centre, but if you want to explore the Bavarian countryside, car hire is a great option for you.
What to eat in Munich
Sausages, and lot of them. The Bavarians love a sausage, and the most famous one in Munich is without question the weisswurst. These are white sausages made from veal and back bacon, boiled and served in their water with fresh salty pretzels and mustard.
