The most popular time to fly to Amsterdam is from mid-April to mid-October. The city is at its warmest during July and August. Winters in Amsterdam are quite cold with spring and autumn being mild, but you should prepare for rain before your cheap Amsterdam flights.

What to see in Amsterdam

There are some attractions that should definitely be at the top of your must-see list when you book Amsterdam flights. No trip to Amsterdam should be considered complete without visiting the Rijksmuseum, the home of the city’s artistic and historic treasures. You’ll find beauty around every corridor including the famous Rembrandt masterpieces.  The Vincent Van Gogh Museum offers another wonderful cultural experience. Here you’ll find the largest collection of Van Gogh’s work in the world. Discover his vibrant paintings and learn about his truly remarkable life.

Outside the galleries and museums, the city itself is pretty much picture perfect. Take a stroll through the huge Bloemenmarkt – Amsterdam’s main flower market. Spend an evening in De Pijp, the hippest district in Amsterdam, filled with cool bars and nightclubs.

Take a cruise down the famous Amsterdam canals and snap some photos from this unique vantage point.

Getting around

Amsterdam is well served by public transport. There are trams, buses, trains, a metro and even ferries to bring you across the river IJ. One of the first things you should do when your cheap flights to Amsterdam land is invest in an Iamsterdam card. The card gives you free access to public transport as well as free entry to the zoo, the Van Gogh Museum and many other museums in the city. You also get to take a one-hour canal cruise.

What to eat in Amsterdam

The food in Amsterdam is wonderful. Try some of the local chips during your stay - we recommend going to Vlaams Friteshuis (Voetboogstraat 33).

If you leave Amsterdam without trying Bitterballen you will deeply regret it, These savoury snacks are similar to croquettes, but so much better. A crispy breadcrumb exterior coats a delicious creamy soft gravy and meat filling. You’ll find them on offer in traditional Amsterdam restaurants.
