Recently, we caught up with Jean Claude in Ibiza and he took some time out from his busy schedule to show us around some of his favourite places to eat, drink and chill…

Although something of a local secret, Rickyzza is fast gaining a reputation for serving up the best pizza in Ibiza. The Figueretas restaurant is just a short 15 minute stroll from both Ibiza Town and Playa d’en Bossa and specialises in thin, melt-in-the-mouth pizza as well as seafood, pasta and salads. Come for the top-notch food, stay for the warm hospitality. And maybe a homemade Limoncello.

Small and cave-like, 1805 is a little gem of an Absinthe bar in Ibiza’s old town run by French mixologist Charles Vexenat.
Inside, furnishings are brilliantly bizarre. Expect chalkboard tables, oil lamps and artwork depicting assorted artists and writers who famously fell under the spell of the Green Fairy. For drinks with spectacular views of the cathedral, make yourself at home on one of the quirky bath-tub sofas outside and enjoy one of Charles’ signature Green Beast cocktails.

Ibiza is famous for its show-stopping sunsets, but if there’s one spot on the island that’s more magical than anywhere else, it’s the view of the sun disappearing behind the islets of Es Vedra and Es Vedranell.
Towering almost 400 metres above sea level, the uninhabited limestone islands are located around 2km off the west coast of Ibiza, close to Cala d’Hort.
As the sun begins to sink and the skies darken, it’s not unusual for drummers and musicians to gather for a sunset session. Often, their music carries on the breeze, adding to the special atmosphere.
How to get there: Es Vedra is located within a 20-minute drive from Ibiza Town. Watch the sunset over the islets from Cala d’Hort beach, or for the best view, park your car at the beach and walk uphill until you reach the old defensive fort.
With its crystal clear waters, white sand and unique setting next to a pine forest, it’s easy to see why Las Salinas is the beach of choice for in-the-know locals. Chilled out beach bars and restaurants line the beachfront all the way to Playa d’en Bossa, with DJs playing a mix of dance music and gentle Balearic beats.
Order food or drinks along here and you can expect to be waited on hand and food – most bars will take your order directly to you while you laze on the beach. Perfect if you’re recovering from the excesses of the night before.
Tip: If you’re looking for quieter bays and coves, head towards the watchtower. Small sheltered beaches dot its rocky shoreline.
Getting there: Las Salinas is located at the southernmost tip of Ibiza and is a 10 minute drive from both Playa d’en Bossa and Ibiza Town if you’re travelling by car or bus.
Overlooking Ibiza’s biggest and most popular beach, Playa d’en Bossa, Beachouse serves up simple and delicious Italian dishes from 11am until 1am daily. Elegant minimalist decor and a welcoming chilled out vibe makes this the quintessential White Isle beach bar. Pop in for a healthy juice or cheeky cocktail and you might be lucky enough to catch a guest session by an international DJ.
