Take the cable car or mountain railway from the village to the top of the mountain and breathe in the breathtakingly crisp air. 2. Engelberg

Home to one of the longest slopes in the region, Engelberg – Titlis is another great family-friendly location to consider. Engelberg is the biggest ski resort in central Switzerland and so has tons of slopes making it accessible to all ski levels. This resort has a number of different activities both on and off the slopes centred around creating a family orientated atmosphere. Finish off an action-packed day by sledding down the valley to dinner or a skate on the ice rink. Beginner skiers rejoice as Engelberg has got you covered. Venture over to Gerschnialp, the nursery slopes at the foot of the Titlis where you will find three ski lifts and gentle slopes. 3. Andermatt

One of Switzerland’s oldest and most idyllic villages, locals have been skiing in Andermatt for over 100 years. Ideally suited to intermediate skiers, Wengen also has a lot to offer beginners with nursery slopes and great ski schools. Another plus to this resort is that it is a bit on the cheaper side and is linked with Grindelwald offering some of the best scenic Swiss skiing at a lower fare. 5. Adelboden
