The world-famous Plymouth Gin is still distilled in the Black Friars Distillery on Plymouth’s Barbican. It’s the oldest working gin distillery in England and offers tours – the ‘Master Distiller’ tour even enables you to make your very own gin!
The distinctive red & white stripes of Smeaton’s Tower stand proudly on Plymouth Hoe, looking out to sea. Formerly a lighthouse, the 72 foot high tower boasts incredible views of Plymouth Sound and the city from its lantern room – definitely worth the 93-step climb.

On Plymouth’s harbour side you’ll find the National Marine Aquarium – the country’s largest public aquarium, home to over 4,000 animals including sharks, stingrays and Friday, the Green Turtle! Their Atlantic Ocean exhibit is the deepest in the UK and holds over 2million litres of water.
Plymouth is Britain’s Ocean City which means it’s a great spot for fishing. Plymouth Boat Trips offer fishing trips, and the nearby Boathouse Café can then ‘Cook Your Catch’ afterwards!
