Use Public Transportation

Germany is famed for its clock-work efficiency and Berlin’s public transport system is certainly no slouch. 

 

Whether it’s the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram, bus or ferry – public transport in Berlin is reliable and affordable, meaning you can get the most out of Berlin for less.

 

You can get a day ticket for one person which lasts until 3am for €7 in tariff zone AB, €4.70, and €7.70 in tariff zone ABC, reduced €5.30.

 

Or if you're travelling with a group, there's a day ticket available for up to five people. This small-group day ticket costs €19.90 in tariff zone AB.

 

If you’re flying to Berlin for longer than a weekend, we suggest picking up a 7-day ticket for €30.

East Side Gallery

The East Side gallery in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is a 1.3km stretch of the Berlin wall that was first painted in 1990. 

 

Street art in Berlin was previously restricted to wall murals which visitors could only see on the western side of the wall, but local artists took it upon themselves to transform this stretch into the iconic outdoor gallery we see today.

 

East Side Gallery showcases the creativity of Berliners who transfromed an ugly symbol of division into something beautiful and unifying.
