Malta Travel Guide - 27 things you can see and do in Malta and Gozo

Malta has always been on my list of places to visit, so when the opportunity came to visit this winter, I jumped on it, excited to leave the cold behind to experience somewhere new (and a little warmer).

We boarded our Ryanair flight on Saturday evening and after 3 hours and 40 minutes we found ourselves getting off the plane to be welcomed by warm Maltese air. Winter in Malta felt like a warm summer day in Ireland. Already, I was sold on the winter sun experience.

Right outside the airport we were met by Zarb Coaches Ltd.  I always think it’s a good idea to have your transfer to your hotel organised in advance, especially if your flight arrives late at night.

The hotel we stayed at was located in the beautiful Salini Resort located in Sliema Bay. We stayed in a superior suite which gave us plenty of space and comfort during our stay.  We were truly spoiled by the breakfast variety and the wonderful hospitality of the staff.

There are so many things to see and do in Malta that I would advise you to stay for at least 3 days or even 4 so you can squeeze a day of relaxation into your trip.

Our visit to Malta was made a lot easier and fun because we had an amazing tour guide - Vince Debono. He provided so much insight into the history and culture of the island and explained to us everything we needed to know about Malta and the history of the island.

It was the first time that I ever travelled with a tour guide and would highly recommend it if you only have a few days to spend in a place.
