Fusing Italian and Georgian culture when it comes to interesting cuisine, Our Café is not to be missed when visiting Kutaisi. Inside, it’s all rustic traditional interiors, frescoed arched ceilings, think Persian rugs and pottery clad shelves - a cosy, quiet refuge from the madness of the busy streets outside. Try the local lobiani (bean-filled bread) and enjoy live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 9-11 pm. With its city centre location, this little hideaway is always a good call when you need a well earned pit stop.

4. Café Fleur – 13 Tsminda Nino Street

Opening earlier than almost every other café in the city, Café Fleur is Kutaisi’s most sought after breakfast spot. Tuck into a classic omelette with all the trimmings or opt for the local cuisine and start your day with a shakshuka served with homemade bread. Watch as the old town comes alive from your seat at one of the outdoor tables and marvel at cappuccinos decorated to look too good to drink. Tucked away down an enchanting street lined on either side with stellar restaurants, after you’ve satisfied your stomach wander a few steps to the Mon Plaisir for a morning dose of the area’s history.

5. Bar-Restaurant Palaty – 11 Pushkini Street

If you’re craving the home comforts of a nice slice of cake and steaming hot pot of coffee look no further than the well-recommended Palaty.  Placing a huge emphasis on making customers feel at home, a cosy atmosphere awaits you the minute you step through the door. Spread across two levels, the romantic first floor, flower clad balconies, pastel purple walls and mismatch of vintage furniture make you feel like you’re dining inside a life-size doll’s house. On a sunny day take your coffee to the courtyard and settle in amongst the array of brightly coloured throws and cushions as you soak up the hot weather. Serving hearty portions of traditional food, this place should definitely be added to your list of where to drink coffee in Kutaisi.
