The UK has introduced a new electronic travel authorisation (ETA) system for travellers who currently visit the UK without a visa. If you are from an eligible country, you must apply for an ETA before traveling to the UK.
Who needs an ETA?
Most travellers to the UK now require either an ETA or a visa. You will need to get an ETA if you are a citizen of an EU nation (excluding Ireland), the USA, Australia, Canada, or select other countries. This applies even if you were previously able to travel without a Visa, and do not hold a UK visa, Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or Biometric Residence Card (BRC).
What do you need to do?
Apply online at Gov.uk or through the UK ETA app at least 3 days before your flight. Please ensure you use the same passport you applied with, and it is valid for your entire stay.

What happens next?
The UK government will link your ETA to the passport you used in your application and will confirm if Ryanair can issue your boarding pass. An ETA does not guarantee entry to the UK; you will still need to go through passport control to enter the UK.
