London Stansted Airport Overview

When you book your cheap flights from London to Fuerteventura, you’ll be flying out from London Stansted Airport.  Over 25 million passengers pass through London Stansted every year, making it the fourth busiest airport in the UK. 

There are several public transport options available to you when travelling from central London. To get to Stansted Airport you can take the National Express coach which runs 24 hours a day and has 15 pick-up points around central London. There is also the more direct route by train via the Stansted Express which runs every 15 minutes and takes only 47 minutes from London Liverpool Street. If travelling by car, you’ll find Stansted Airport is located just 68km outside central London, just off the M11 motorway.

Fuerteventura El Matorral Airport Overview

On arrival from your London to Fuerteventura flights, you’ll enter Fuerteventura’s El Matorral Airport, one of the busiest airports in the Canary Islands.  Taxis or private transfers are the best way to get from the airport to your accommodation. Public transport services are limited to popular resorts such as Corralejo. When going by bus, there is no direct public bus connection between the Airport and Corralejo, however you can take the number 3 bus from the airport to Puerto del Rosario bus station, and then the number 6 from there to Corralejo.

What to Expect on arrival at Fuerteventura?

No matter what time of year you fly London to Fuerteventura you can expect warm, pleasant weather, with average temperatures in the summer reaching 27°C. Fuerteventura is filled with awe-inspiring scenery including Dunas de Corralejo Natural Park in the north of the island with its Sahara-like sand dunes, as well as other volcanic landforms such as the volcanic cone of the “Montaña Roja” (red mountain). There is also Cofete Beach. Located on the western side of the Jandia peninsula, it is what, for many, is Canarias’ most spectacular beach. Cofete is an immense expanse of golden sand, extends for about 12 km.Another famous breach, The North Shore – as its name implies, lies on the northern coast of Fuerteventura and is paradise for surfers. The coast begins in Corralejo and ends about 20km later at the famous lighthouse in El Cotillo.
