How to get to Manchester airport

Manchester Airport (MAN) is just under 14km from Manchester city centre and is accessible by a number of public transport services. It takes under 30 minutes to reach Manchester Airport by train from Manchester Piccadilly station. The Manchester Metrolink will bring you to the airport from Cornbrook station in under 35 minutes, with trains operating every 12 minutes. There’s also the 24-hour bus service, number 43, which runs every 10 minutes (30 minutes at night) and leaves from the city centre with stops in between. It takes just 20 minutes to drive to Manchester airport via the M56 motorway, with short-stay and long-stay parking options available on arrival at the airport.

 

Manchester Airport: Overview

Manchester Airport is one of the UK’s busiest, welcoming around 25 million passengers every year. It has three passenger terminals currently in operation, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and retail outlets if you have some spare time before your flights from Manchester to Barcelona. From Manchester to Barcelona: Practical Information

Weather in Barcelona is pretty warm throughout the year, with limited rainfall. It can get quite hot over the summer with temperatures reaching between 27°C and 30°C between June and September. Winters remain mild too, with highs of 17°C between November and March. If you’re not a fan of the heat, the best time to fly from Manchester to Barcelona is in the spring, when temperatures are between 15°C and 19°C from February to April.

Barcelona is a very busy city. Fortunately, there are plenty of public transport options available to find your way around the city. The metro, trams and FGC trains are probably the quickest and cheapest way around with each journey costing just €2.20. If you’re interested in seeing the city and keeping fit at the same time, Barcelona is a great city to explore by bike. The city has fully integrated cycle lanes and exploring the city’s parks by bike is a real treat.
