Why Paris?

Paris isn’t just a city for romance. The French capital has so many activities for families and travellers with wanderlust too. You might be wondering what to do when you book cheap flights to Paris, France – here’s what you need to know.

There’s the obvious main attractions to visit. The Eiffel Tower is a symbol of the whole country and even if it seems a little cliché, there’s a reason why it’s one of the most popular sights in Europe. Up close, in real-life, it really is spectacular.

The Champs-Élysées, the Musée d’Orsay, Louvre and Notre-Dame Cathedral are other must dos. Paris is such a beautiful city that just strolling around the streets of the City of Lights is a wonderful experience.

Paris is also home to Disneyland Paris which has attracted a myriad of visitors since it first opened in 1992. For these reasons and so much more, booking cheap Paris flights with Ryanair is an absolute must.

When to book cheap flights to Paris

It’s tempting to book Paris cheap flights at any time of the year – but if you’re looking to explore the city in the sunshine it might be best to visit during the summer months. The French capital is at its hottest in July and August when temperatures reach 25°C. The only problem when you book cheap flights to Paris in the summer is that a lot of other people have the same idea, so prepare for crowds of tourists and lots of queuing. If you want to avoid the queues and crowds, then September to November is a great time to fly to Paris. It’s still quite warm and there will be less visitors, meaning you’ll have more time to see the major attractions. Accommodation is also cheaper during these months.

What to see in Paris

Whether you’re travelling with children, with your partner or taking a city break by yourself, Paris has plenty of things to do and see. The main tourist attractions in the city are the Champs-Élysées, Notre Dame Cathedral, Louvre Museum, and the symbol of the city – the Eiffel Tower. The Arc de Triomphe stands at the end of the Champs-Élysées where you can get a 360° view of the whole area from its panoramic terrace. Trocadero Square is the perfect place to gaze at the Eiffel Tower while eating a Nutella-filled crêpe. Take a cruise down the River Seine and see the romantic sights of the city with a knowledgeable tour guide. Paris is known  as the ‘City of Love’ for many reasons. The “I Love You Wall” pays tribute to all the lovers who have visited the city. The wall is covered with the phrase “I love you” written in 250 languages and is a cute spot to sit with your other half. If you’re travelling with children, or not, Disneyland Paris is great for a day trip. You can take a ride on one of their many rollercoasters, pose for photos with the stars of Disney movies, and so much more. It’s a great day out for all the family. Getting around

The Métro is the quickest way to get around Paris. There’s a handy colour-coded system to help you figure out your route and how to get from place to place. Alternatively, you can use Paris’ public bus service. The buses go everywhere in the city and you’ll get to see the sights as you drive around. However, due to traffic congestion, the bus isn’t as efficient as the Métro, so don’t rely on buses if you’re in a rush.

What to eat in Paris

Paris is synonymous with fine dining and indulgent local eats. French cuisine is renowned as one of the best dining experiences in the whole world.
